The southern tip of the African continent is the meeting place of two mighty and bountiful oceans, the Indian and the Atlantic. Unlock the secrets of these incredible oceans at the Two Oceans Aquarium. With more than 3 000 living animals, including sharks, fishes, turtles, frogs and penguins, the Two Oceans Aquarium holds new discoveries around every corner and is sure to astound, entertain and educate young and old.

Spectacular exhibits, ranging from vibrant displays of Indian Ocean tropical fishes to the magnificent 800,000 litre Kelp Forest Exhibit, which is one of only three living kelp forests on display in the world, brings the two oceans together under one roof. This unique venue enables visitors to explore the oceans, but through exhibits such as Frogs – Beyond the Pond, and the SAPPI River Meander, visitors are also welcomed into the world of frogs and rivers – after all, all rivers run to the sea. The SAPPI River Meander Exhibit is home to our resident African Penguin colony and during breeding season one is often greeted by the sight of penguin chicks exploring the beach. 

Going beyond the break-line is easy with opportunities such as diving with the sharks and the daily feeding of the fishes and penguins. There is also plenty for small fry to do. With daily activity programmes in the AfriSam Children’s Play Centre, toddlers are sure to be entertained with puppet shows, arts and crafts and other entertaining and interesting activities.

Meet, eat and play at Shoreline Café, the Aquarium’s restaurant situated just off the foyer. Shoreline Café offers exquisite views of Table Mountain, the yacht marina and the upmarket residential apartments and hotels that grace this part of the V&A Waterfront. This facility is informal, wholesome and child-friendly and offers an appetising menu of affordable light meals. Shoreline Café also houses the first dedicated children’s play centre in a restaurant within the V&A Waterfront.
