Goudkoppie Heritage Hill is situated on the hill along the N12 Treasure Route. Ripples in the landscape caused by the Vredefort meteorite caused a series of hills, and Klerksdorp lies well within the influence of the meteorite impact, therefore the hill at Goudkoppie is a direct result of the meteorite.
