MUSEUM OF MILITARY HISTORY

Saxonwold
 MUSEUM

The Museum provides a home for the memory and study of the military history of Southern Africa. The Museum offers visitors a rare opportunity to view the actual artifacts of Southern Africa’s often turbulent past. Many of the displays can be viewed in the two Bellman aircraft hangars, which were the original buildings provided when the Museum was opened. Over the years, many other buildings have been added to house the growing collection.

A new entrance, accommodation for the library and archives, and display halls for some of the Museum’s world-renowned aircraft and armoured vehicles are the most recent additions. The Museum houses some of the rarest military equipment in the world. Aircraft, armour, artillery, medical, naval and engineering equipment, small arms, medals, badges and uniforms are present throughout the Museum.

Entrance: R20 (adults), R10 (children)
Open: Daily 9am–4.30pm (closed Good Friday and Christmas Day)
