PANORAMA ROUTE

Pilgrim’s Rest, Sabie, Graskop, Ohrigstad and Hazyview
 NATURE

The Panorama abounds with breathtaking views from natural wonders along the eastern slopes of the escarpment. The world’s third largest canyon (60km long) and largest green canyon, the Blyde River Canyon, is filled with lush vegetation. There are a number of viewpoints offering excellent views of the Canyon and the river 600 m below, including God’s Window.

The Panorama is also home to the Three Rondawels and the astonishing Bourke’s Luck Potholes - deep cylindrical holes formed by the action of the sand and rock carried down by the rivers when in flood. Pinnacle Rock in the southern part of the Blyderivierspoort Reserve is a large protruding column of granite rising 30m above the dense indigenous forest. The Berlin Falls and Lisbon Falls are both spectacular. The towns of Lydenburg and Graskop are gateways to the Panorama.
