AFRIKAANS LANGUAGE MUSEUM

11 Pastorie Avenue, Paarl
 MUSEUM

The Afrikaans Language museum offers a modern exhibition on the roots, variants and expressions of Afrikaans. The audiovisual exhibition is an exciting introduction to the language and the people who speak it. The hands-on, minds-on and interactive displays make a visit to this museum an enjoyable as well as an educational experience.

The museum also focuses on early written Afrikaans, for example, Arabic Afrikaans, and the contribution of the Association of True Afrikaners. Part of the ground floor was restored to the state it had been in the last quarter of the 19th century.

Groups must pre-book for guided tours. Educational programmes are offered for schools.
The Museum is closed on Sundays and Public Holidays
